About a year ago, we launched a new anti-bacterial film, capable of eliminating 99% of bacteria from its surface.
This film, with special silver ion additives, was immediately found to be very useful in medical, educational and other environments where additional health protection is needed.
Further tests were conducted during the year and it is now official that the film is also effective against viruses, including the one that causes Covid 19.
This is why it recently changed its name to ANTIMICROBIAL.
Tests have in fact shown that after 24 hours there is a reduction of over 84% of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus on its surface compared to a normal laminating film.
These tests were conducted by independent laboratories: initially for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) and Escherichia Coli (E-Coli) bacteria, and subsequently for feline coronavirus (FCoV) and human coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
In carrying out antiviral testing, the film was first tested with feline coronavirus due to the availability and capabilities of independent specialised laboratories.
Subsequently, the film was tested with the human coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
In both tests, the antimicrobial performance was outstanding.
ANTIMICROBIAL film is therefore an excellent solution for protecting printed products, giving them a glossy or matt finish, and at the same time offering an additional means of protecting the health of those who come into contact with the finished product.
This film also has EN71 (Toys Safe) certification.
It's not hard to imagine how useful such a material could be for protecting literature and packaging in medical, educational, catering and point-of-sale environments.
Antimicrobial film has the same properties, processability and technical performance as traditional films and is available in both wet and dry versions.
The antimicrobial effect is long-lasting, odourless, harmless to humans and totally safe.
